What Are Your Service Times?
Worship starts at 10 am on Sunday. We have coffee, snacks, and socializing before and after service so feel free to arrive early or stay late!
Where are you located?
We are at 202 E Indiana St in Rapid City. If you know where South Middle School is, we are just to the east of the middle school.
What is your style of worship?
We have a mix of traditional and contemporary style worship service.
What Should I Wear?
At Open Heart "we aspire to affirm Christ's love for all people". Show up in what you feel comfortable wearing. Most of our members dress smart-casual to worship.
Where Should I park on Sunday Morning?
We have a large parking lot on the church grounds that allows for lots of room for parking. Accessible parking spaces can be found near the back door of the church.
What Door do I Enter When I Come to Your Church?
On Sunday mornings you may enter through the front or rear doors based on where you parked. On weekdays during office hours the rear door of the church is unlocked.
Who Is in charge of Our Children?
Shelby Loffelmacher is our children's coordinator and is in charge of our children's programming on Sundays.
Are Babies and Children Welcome in the Worship Service?
Yes! We have a time for All God's Beloved during worship where children are invited up front. We even have a Sunday School table in the Sanctuary where children are invited to play and craft quietly.
What Ministries does the church support?
Circle of Friends Ministry, Solar Oven Partners, and our very own Free Little Pantry are just a few of the ministries Open Heart supports and all three are hosted on-site!
How do I get involved in a small group?
Contact Eli in the office or Pastor Michele and they can get you connected with the group leader and go from there!
Can I use the church building for a private event?
Yes, we have a building use form that must be filled out and signed ahead of time. Contact the main office for a copy.
How do I find out what's going on at Open Heart UMC?
You can visit our calendar page on our website, follow us on Facebook, and download the church app!
Do you have a ramp into the building?
Our building has a ramp to the front door, and the back door is ground level.
Do you have an elevator?
Yes! It is easily accessible from the back door of the church, and can take you upstairs to worship or downstairs to activities!
Where is your accessible parking located?
Our accessible parking spots are located by the back door of the church.
