The monthly mobile food distribution we had been hosting for years was relocated to the north side of town in September 2025. We started praying and thinking about how else to support our neighbors who might struggle with food insecurity. Grant funding from the
Black Hills Area Community Foundation suddenly became available and we started planning for real, knowing we could do it for as long as God provides the volunteers and the food!
Heart to Table (
link to Facebook page) will launch this coming Tuesday (Dec. 2, 2025), and we expect will run most Tuesdays after that. We continue to seek additional donor partnerships to help us as we strive to provide
supplemental nutrition to our neighbors in need. Supplies are limited. Procedures may change as we learn things. Please bear with us as we figure things out! Here's where we're at for now:
- Heart to Table welcomes neighbors on Tuesdays from 2:30-5:30 pm
- Neighbors, please bring a photo ID and a recent utility bill or other official business mail with your name and address on it to verify you live in the service area.
- Service area is shown in the graphic above, which is south of St. Patrick Street, but north of Fairmont Boulevard; east of 5th Street, but west of Cambell Street.
- Neighbors from a single household may pick up food up to twice a month.
- Distribution will generally be about 7.5 pounds of food
- Some items will be pre-selected, and choice will be given for others.
- We invite neighbors to enjoy a snack any time they visit, as long as supplies last. May be muffins from our Circle of Friends Muffin Monday ministry, or prepared samples of the bean soup mix we assemble here for the Free Little Pantry.
- Neighbors will need to complete some paperwork for our tracking purposes and for Feeding South Dakota, Rapid City. We are thankful for their partnership!
